Telepsychiatry Services

Our video-based telepsychiatry services help increase appointment convenience, affordability and accessibility to mental health services.

What is telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry is a growing healthcare option where clients participate in an appointment with a provider from a distance using technology. Our telepsychiatry sessions are held in real-time using video conferencing.

What are the benefits of telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry increases accessibility to care, allowing clients to schedule appointments much sooner.

How do clients participate in the real-time session?
Telepsychiatry is currently offered at our Family Life Mental Health Center (FLMHC) in Coon Rapids. Clients attend appointments in a private, cozy office at FLMHC where the provider is present on a video screen. A Medical Support Specialist sets up each client in the room and is available throughout the session if needed.

Who is our telepsychiatry provider?
Our provider has a Master of Science in Nursing and diverse experience working with children, adolescents and adults.

What clients can benefit from these services?
These services are available for children (ages six and older), for adolescents and for adults. Our provider works with all diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder, mood disorders, developmental and attachment disorders, schizophrenia, and bi-polar disorder. Parents and/or natural supports are also welcome to join the session at the client’s request.

What services are available?
Services include assessment and medication management. Prescriptions may be filled at Genoa Pharmacy, which is located at our facility, or at an alternate pharmacy chosen by the client.

When are appointments available?
Appointments are available Tuesday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

How are appointments scheduled?
New clients and existing clients can call Central Access at 651-774-0011. Existing clients can also fill out our online appointment form.
