People II provides long-term residential services to people who have a dual-diagnosis of developmental disabilities and mental illness. Licensed under the ICF/DD regulations, People II is a six-bed facility that provides a safe, nurturing environment for people to learn and develop life skills they need to gain more independence.
Who we serve
Individuals must be adults (18+) with both a developmental disability and a mental illness.
The goals we set
We assess each individual client upon admission to determine their skill level across a variety of objectives. We then design an individualized program to assist each client in improving these skills, thereby gaining more independence.
Services we provide
People II offers residential day treatment including medication monitoring, nursing services, recreational therapy, independent living skills training, and behavioral therapy, through individual behavior support plans.

People II provides a safe, supportive and caring environment located in a scenic south Minneapolis neighborhood near Lake Harriet. We have easy access to public transportation services.

People II services are covered through Medical Assistance.
About our staff
Our professional staff includes BA and MA level professionals, registered nurses, consulting dietitians, and paraprofessional support specialists. We provide regular training on issues related to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
Hours of operation
People II is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
We are licensed as an ICF/DD Facility through the MN Department of Health, and through the Department of Human Services as a Rule 245D program.
