Dakota Apartment Program
1016 West Burnsville Parkway, Suite 158
Burnsville, MN 55337
People Incorporated’s Dakota Apartment Program helps individuals living in a community setting to become more independent while still getting the support that they need.
Who we serve
Dakota Apartment Program is a step between traditional adult foster care services and independent living. We serve individuals who are having challenges with their mental health. In order to receive our services, an individual must be approved for a Home and Community Based Services Waiver such as CADI or BI.
The goals we set
We don’t determine the goals for the people we serve. We trust that they’re the experts when it comes to the direction in which they would like their life to grow. In general, we help those we serve to live safely and productively in the community, to develop self-awareness, to build natural supports, and to make positive plans for the future.
Services we provide
Our residents reside in two-bedroom apartments and have access to staff if they are in need of support. We check in on residents throughout the day to help solve problems that may arise. We encourage our residents to participate in problem solving, thereby strengthening their independence. In technical terms, the services that we provide are Independent Living Skills (ILS) training and 24-hour emergency assistance.
