About our 50th Anniversary: July 1, 1969 marked the first day we opened our doors as an organization to a handful of veterans with mental illness and substance use disorders. Over the last 50 years, we’ve continued to open doors in our community, inventing more than 60 innovative, creative, person-first mental health programs that help people lead healthier, happier lives. Now we’re working on shaping these programs into an open network of care, looking at every aspect of how we can help each person.
