ARCH (Anoka Resident’s Community Housing) provides supportive services to individuals with a diagnosed mental illness who may or may not have a chemical addiction as well. In addition, program participants need to be unable to obtain housing independently. The goal is to assist our clients in obtaining and maintaining independent housing.
Who we serve
ARCH serves adults (18+) with a serious, persistent mental illness who meet HUD requirements for homeless definition and who have demonstrated a need for assistance in order to live independently.
The goals we set
We work to help individuals who enter ARCH to live independently in the community and, ideally, improve their level of functioning.
Services we provide
Our services include but are not limited to housing support, financial/budget management, independent living skills, medication monitoring/management, resource referrals, peer groups, coordination of services, crisis counseling, sobriety support, recreational/social opportunities, and limited transportation assistance. These supportive services are tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services are also available by referral.

The ARCH program is located within several blocks of downtown Anoka, convenient for bus lines and shopping.
About the process
Individuals are usually referred to ARCH by a case manager or social worker, and occasionally by a doctor, facility, or family. It is also possible to be self-referred. The referral provides a way to get information in preparation for the intake interview. After the intake interview, a decision will be made about whether or not the individual is appropriate for the program.
About our fees
Costs are related to rent for the client and are based on 30% of their personal income. The ARCH program is paid through contracted funds.
About our staff
All ARCH staff has, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in social services.
Hours of operation
Typically 8:00 am – 5 pm, although a staff person is on call at all times.
