Jill Wiedemann-West joined People Incorporated as its first Chief Operating Officer in 2010. She was promoted to CEO in 2014. Ms. Wiedemann-West’s professional background and experience is in healthcare operations, management and service development. She holds a Master of Arts in Psychology and Human Behavior from National University in San Diego, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Jim Olson served as People Incorporated’s Director of Finance from 2011-2013, and returned as Chief Financial Officer in 2014. As CFO he is responsible for oversight of all the organizations financials. He also oversees the facilities and human resources departments. Mr. Olson’s background includes over 19 years of experience as a financial executive in healthcare related industries. Prior to People Incorporated, Olson held Management roles at Park Nicollet Health Services, Fairview Health Services and HealthPartners. Mr. Olson holds an undergraduate and MBA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas.
Jodie Brend joined People Incorporated in 1996, and has had the opportunity to be involved in many of People Incorporated various programs. Ms. Brend holds a B.S. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance, both from North Dakota State University. In addition, she is a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
Nancy Myers joined People Incorporated in 2016. A native Minnesotan, Ms. Myers spent several years in Texas where she ran numerous community-based mental health care programs and created multiple external collaborations with law enforcement that facilitated transitions to appropriate mental health services. She holds a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College in California, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of St. Catherine.
Katie O’Brien has been with People Incorporated since 2001, and has previously served as director of Community Support, Case Management, Residential, and Crisis Services. Ms. O’Brien holds a degree in Communications and Psychology and is a Registered Nurse.
Heather Christopherson oversees People Incorporated’s fundraising, communications and volunteer initiatives. She has been active in healthcare and human services philanthropy for more than sixteen years, and has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive since 2003. Ms. Christopherson holds a BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her Masters in Public Administration in Nonprofit Management, with a concentration in fundraising, in 1998 – also at the University of Pittsburgh.
Mike Turpin joined People Incorporated in 2015 as General Counsel. His background includes over eight years of legal experience in the health care and government fields, including serving as General Counsel for MNsure where he served on the senior management team and managed all legal and compliance functions for the agency. He also served as Deputy General Counsel for the Minnesota Department of Human Services where he provided advice and assistance to the Department on a wide variety of legal topics. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Turpin was a public school teacher working with children with learning differences. He earned his B.A. from Carleton College and his J.D. from the University of St. Thomas, School of Law.
Tim McGuire has over 40 years of experience in the mental health field as a mental health care provider, manager and instructor. He has been a Peer Reviewer and Team Leader for the Council on Accreditation; an instructor for the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine School of Social Work; and an Ethics Trainer for the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. He holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of St. Thomas.
