People Incorporated Mental Health Services Acquires Family Life Mental Health Center
Merger Strengthens Community Care Continuum in Northwest Metro

ST PAUL, MN – October 25, 2016 – People Incorporated Mental Health Services and Coon Rapids-based Family Life Mental Health Center announced plans today to combine operations – a move that will strengthen the mental health care safety net in Anoka County.

“Mental health care needs often are quite complex,” said Rosalin Chrest, MSW, LICSW, executive director of Family Life Mental Health Center. “Counseling is often the first step on a road to recovery that may include other services such as crisis respite, intensive residential treatment or case management. People Incorporated pioneered several such services in Minnesota, and our partnership will allow smooth transitions across the mental health care continuum for those we serve.”

People Incorporated CEO Jill Wiedemann-West, MA, agrees with Chrest. “This partnership with Family Life Mental Health Center addresses gaps that both of our organizations were seeing in Anoka County,” she said. “In addition, the synergies we bring to the partnership with our administrative infrastructure will enable continued excellence in care delivery for Family Life Mental Health Center in an era of increasingly complex reimbursement regulations.”

In 2009, Family Life Mental Health Center became a subsidiary of Twin Cities-based Rise, a nonprofit organization supporting people with disabilities and other barriers to housing and employment in achieving their related goals. Lynn Noren, Rise President, voiced her support for the partnership with People Incorporated. “People Incorporated is a highly-respected mental health care provider with a long track record of excellence in client care,” she stated. “We’re very pleased with this new partnership and look forward the benefits both organizations will be able to leverage in supporting those living with mental illness in our community.”

Family Life Mental Health Center at People Incorporated will continue operations as usual in its current location at 1930 Coon Rapids Boulevard in Coon Rapids.
